The Cyprus Airways Group enters the Aviation Training Sector

The Cyprus Airways Group has entered the Aviaion Training Sector with an Academy based at Larnaka Airport.

In a brief ceremony held at Larnaka Airport, the Academy recently presented its fleet and facilities in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis.

The 26 October event showcased the state-of-the-art Airbus A220 from Cyprus Airways alongside the Academy’s training aircraft, symbolizing the synergy between the Group’s companies.

According to a relevent press release, last summer, Cyprus Airways Group expanded its business family by acquiring the well-regarded aviation training school 'Aviator Flying Centre'. The team will now focus its energy, experience and care on 'Cyprus Airways Flying Academy', establishing it as a center of excellence in aviation training.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Koumis, remarked, “We are pleased to witness the growth of new sectors that position Cyprus as a regional hub for services.”

The Group’s Owner, Mikhail Alenkin, in his message, stated, “With the creation of the Academy, our Group continues to invest in the Cypriot market. We believe in Cyprus’s potential in the aviation sector, and today’s initiative reinforces that commitment.”

The Academy’s Accountable Manager, Christos Limnatitis, shared, “Our vision is to create a center of excellence in aviation training, among the best in Europe, and a reference point for the Eastern Mediterranean region.”

Guests had the opportunity to explore the Academy’s training aircraft fleet comprising of, Aquilas AT-01 and Diamond DA-40, as well as the ALSIM FNPT II simulator, while also visiting Cyprus Airways’ Airbus A220.
