Charalambos Prountzos: “The capital is ready to embrace any sustainable business initiative”

“The capital is ready to embrace any sustainable business initiative,” declared the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, as he opened Inspire 2024: Entrepreneurial Festival on Makarios Avenue in Nicosia.

The capital’s mayor took the opportunity from the stand of the biggest entrepreneurial festival to ever take place in Cyprus, with over 100 speakers and more than 3,000 registered visitors over the course of two days, to announce that an initiative is currently underway, starting by expanding the city’s greenery with tree planting and other actions that will be announced soon.

A second pillar of this strategy, Prountzos said, is to transform Nicosia into a smart democratic efficient city, while the third pillar is for Nicosia to be a metropolis of history, culture and experiences.

The strategy’s fourth pillar aims to promote the island’s capital as the city of Universities, research and innovation.

Concluding, Prountzos said he hoped there will be developments soon in the Cyprus issue, which he said will lead to much-needed growth.
