TEAMWORK 2: Combating workplace sexual harassment through education and advocacy
09:42 - 30 October 2024
Workplace sexual harassment remains a pressing issue across the European Union, affecting both individuals and organisations. To address this challenge, the TEAMWORK 2 project, funded by the European Commission, has emerged as a key initiative aimed at promoting gender equality and fostering safer, harassment-free work environments.
Building on the success of the REC-funded TEAMWORK 1 project, which enhanced understanding and provided actionable recommendations, TEAMWORK 2 advances these efforts through education and systemic change.
At the heart of this initiative is the TEAMWORK 2 eLearning platform, which equips employers with the fundamental insights and knowledge needed to effectively prevent and address sexual harassment within their workspaces. The comprehensive course, available in seven languages including Greek, English, Bulgarian, Italian, Croatian, French and Catalan, covers essential topics, including definitions of sexual harassment, legal frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and victim support. Through interactive, real-world scenarios, participants gain practical insights into recognising inappropriate behaviour and responding effectively. This digital resource empowers employers to create safer, more inclusive workplaces while ensuring that employees feel protected and supported.
A diverse consortium of 13 partners from six EU countries - including national civil society organisations, Chambers of Commerce, trade unions, and corporate training experts - collaborates to achieve these ambitious goals. CARDET Research Center and the Paphos Chamber of Commerce represent Cyprus in this initiative. Other partners include Diesis NStwork, Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Bulgaria), Surt (Spain), Oxfam (Italy), KMOP (Greece), IVEPE-SEV (Greece), Adecco Training (Italy), Center for New Initiatives (Croatia), CGIL Toscana (Italy), DAF (Bulgaria), and Syndicate "Education" (Bulgaria).
