Hotels occupancy at 80% in October, PASYXE President reveals

Occupancy in Cyprus hotels reached 80%, a performance which was a bit better than that of October last year, Cyprus Hotels Association (PASYXE) President, Thanos Michaelides, has said, expressing satisfaction.

Referring to November, Michaelides said that interest has been expressed and hotel occupancy is expected to be at satisfactory levels.

Our aim is for November to become part of the summer season, he noted, in his comments to CNA.

Michaelides further said that all hotels in Cyprus were operational in October, adding however that quite a few units will stop operating in November.

Invited to say whether the war in the Middle East has affected tourism, Michaelides replied that other markets, such as the British, the German and Polish markets make up for visitor numbers.
