Cyprus hosts general assembly of World Council of Civil Engineers

The Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers hosted last week the 19th General Assembly of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE).

The Cyprus Association, SPOLMIK, was represented by its President, Kyriakos Tsioupanis. The new President of the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE), Platonas Stylianou, made a brief presentation of the ECCE Strategic Plan, highlighting the goals and vision of the Council for the years 2024-2029.

Participants discussed issues related to projects, initiatives and strategic goals, as well as the Financial Report. 

They also elected the new WCEE President who is Oscar Sanchez from Costa Rica.

The 20th WCCE General Assembly will be held in November 2025 in Nigeria and the 21st General Assembly in 2026 in Costa Rica.
