Emergency Exercise at Larnaka International Airport successfully completed

An emergency exercise by Hermes Airports was successfully carried out at Larnaka International Airport with the participation of the Department of Civil Aviation, Police, Fire Brigade, Cyprus Airways and various governmental services and companies operating at the airport.

According to the exercise scenario, smoke was detected in the cabin of an aircraft during the embarkation process of passengers. The crew immediately ordered an emergency evacuation, and the airport emergency plan was activated.

Hermes Airports expresses its satisfaction concerning the outcome of the exercise which was part of the ongoing efforts to improve the level of readiness and coordination of all the Airport services involved during emergency situations.

All the findings will be evaluated, in order to further improve the emergency response levels and the overall performance of the various services during such occasions.
