RSM Cyprus - Proud Gold Sponsor of the 10th International Funds Summit & Expo

For a third consecutive year, RSM Cyprus supported the 10th International Funds Summit and Expo, held on 7-8 November in Nicosia, as a Gold Sponsor.

Marios P. Charalambides, Partner, Board Member and Head of Financial Services at RSM Cyprus, moderated a high-profile panel discussion on the rapid evolution of alternative investments, featuring leading experts from the private equity, commodities, crypto assets and investment sectors. The distinguished panellists Benjamin Alt of Schroders Capital, Jigna Gibb of Bloomberg, and James People of Franklin Templeton, brought to light how alternative investments continue to adapt, providing investors with novel opportunities to navigate the complexities of an ever-changing global economy. Together, they examined the growth of private markets, the rising accessibility for retail investors, the importance of sustainable, impact-focused investment and the important role of technology.

During the panel, Charalambides set the stage by highlighting the pressures of today's fast-paced, volatile environment, where investors must innovate to stay ahead. "We live in a world where change waits for no one," he emphasised, underscoring the importance of agility in the face of economic uncertainty.

As the discussion unfolded, panellists explored how alternative assets are transforming portfolios—becoming more than just a means of diversification; they represent a resilient approach to managing risk and return. The audience was introduced to emerging trends, including technology's transformative role in operational efficiency and the significant expansion of private markets, projected to reach an impressive $17 trillion AUM by 2025.

Closing the session, each panellist shared sector-specific insights, from the growing mainstream appeal of private equity and the evolving role of commodities and cryptocurrencies to the democratisation of alternative assets for a broader investor base. With its broadening access and innovative strategies, the alternative investment landscape is set to be a key driver for investors seeking growth and stability in today's complex markets.
