Energy Minister to meet with counterparts and energy executives in Abu Dhabi

Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry George Papanastasiou, who is in Abu Dhabi for the ADIPEC 2024 international exhibition, will hold a series of meetings with counterparts from the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, as well as with energy officials and senior executives of the energy companies Chevron, Shell, Eni and BP.

A press release from the Ministry of Energy says that Minister Papanastasiou will take part in a 4 November Ministerial Discussion on increasing collaboration between the Global North and South for a successful transition, in the framework of the ADIPEC 2024 International Energy Exhibition and Conference.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Papanastasiou will also have separate meetings with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, responsible for Energy and Petroleum, Sharif Al Olama and the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Karim Badawi.

On 5 November, the press release adds, the Minister will hold meetings with the CEO of TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company)  Jasim Husain Thabet, the Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions and International Development of ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) Musabbeh Al Kaabi, as well as senior executives from energy companies Chevron, Shell, Eni and BP.

The Minister of Energy will return to Cyprus on 6 November.
