In an interview with GOLD magazine, Zamboni talks about his personal vision for the hotel, the new features and services that guests can look forward to, as well as the approaches and techniques he is looking forward to bringing to The Landmark Nicosia as General Manager.
What is your personal vision for The Landmark Nicosia Hotel?
We strive to introduce luxury and innovation to Nicosia. Our vision for this property is to transform it into a beacon of opulence and heritage, seamlessly blending historic charm with modern elegance. We are committed to fostering an environment where guests experience unmatched hospitality. By crafting innovative and personalised experiences that celebrate the local culture, we aim to establish our hotel as a premier destination. This transformation includes our affiliation with the Autograph Collection Hotels, renowned for their unique design and boutique hospitality, where each hotel in the collection tells its own story and leaves a lasting imprint. Our brand narrative celebrates Cyprus' rich cultural heritage and vibrant social fabric, creating an immersive and luxurious experience for all guests. Our design approach aims to create a high-end contemporary ambience that regenerates the memory of the place, creating unique experiences that become rituals and traditions.
The location already has a long and distinguished history but what are some of the new features and services that guests can look forward to?
Guests can look forward to state-of-the-art wellness and spa facilities offering rejuvenating experiences, exquisite dining options featuring both international cuisine and local delicacies, and redesigned luxurious guest rooms with contemporary amenities. They will include sophisticated accommodation, signature restaurants, lifestyle pools and upscale retail outlets. Each aspect has been meticulously curated to foster holistic wellbeing and craft an unparalleled experience, promising a rich tapestry of luxury and authenticity. The hotel's design also incorporates elements of Cyprus' rich cultural heritage. Additionally, our enhanced event spaces will be equipped with the latest technology to host memorable gatherings.
The Landmark Nicosia will be an Autograph Collection Hotel. What qualities do you associate with the brand?
The Autograph Collection brand is synonymous with a unique individual character, a strong sense of place, high standards of luxury and personalised service. It represents authentic experiences that tell a story, with meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The transformation of The Landmark Nicosia into an Autograph Collection Hotel embodies these qualities by offering a refined blend of historic charm and modern luxury, ensuring that each guest experiences a profound sense of place and timeless hospitality. The design incorporates local cultural elements, such as the famed Lefkara lace, symbolising the seamless blend of tradition and modernity. The Autograph Mark will represent signature moments in the guest experience, particularly in spaces like the Grand Room, the Lobby Bar, and the Magic Box, which showcases unique gifts and stories.
How would you describe the clientele of an Autograph Collection Hotel? What do they expect from their accommodation?
Our clientele includes both discerning travellers and local guests, all seeking unique and memorable experiences. These sophisticated guests expect bespoke and enriching stays tailored to their individual preferences. Our hotel aims to bring a new level of luxury to Nicosia, providing a refined space for locals and visitors alike to experience exquisite dining, state-of-the-art wellness facilities and vibrant cultural events. Are there particular approaches and techniques you are looking forward to bringing to The Landmark Nicosia as General Manager?
I plan to implement a culture of meticulous attention to detail, emphasizing personalised guest services tailored to individual needs. By introducing innovative hospitality practices, we will enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, we aim to cultivate a team ethos centred around excellence and warmth, ensuring that every guest feels special. This includes leveraging the unique offerings of our wellness facilities, such as the mezzanine spa with its serene treatment rooms and the state-of-the-art gym, to create holistic and rejuvenating experiences for our guests. We will also highlight the Grand Room's ambience, the informal elegance of the Lobby Bar, and the cultural richness of our Magic Box to create unique and memorable experiences. The "Do's of the Diplomat" concept will guide our approach, combining traditional etiquette with contemporary hospitality to create an exclusive and relaxed atmosphere.
What do you consider to be the main elements needed by a hotel/resort if it is to be popular and successful?
Our success hinges on the people we serve. A hotel's popularity and prosperity are not just built on bricks and mortar but on the relationships we nurture with our guests.
