Marios Tannousis: Cyprus is an appealing destination for FDI

Invest Cyprus’ CEO Marios Tannousis said Cyprus is an appealing destination for foreign direct investments (FDI), as he presented the island’s mixed financing regimes and incentives at the 10th International Funds Summit & Expo.

Tannousis presented Cyprus’ key advantages for investors, highlighting the island’s geostrategic position and schemes to support foreign investments.

He said Cyprus’ unique geographical position at the crossroads of three continents – Europe, Asia and Africa – is one of its most significant advantages. This position offers easy access to markets with a population of over one billion people, making Cyprus a hub for international trade and investment.

Cyprus has been a full member of the European Union since 2004 and of the Eurozone since 2008, thus offering investors access to the Single European Market, which makes it even more attractive for multinational companies and investors.

Tannousis also emphasised the importance of the trade and tax agreements signed by Cyprus, which offer multiple benefits to investors.

With more than 40 intra-EU trade agreements and 65 double taxation agreements with various countries, Cyprus offers a stable and favourable legal and tax framework, he said, adding that these agreements enable investors to expand their activities and take advantage of significant tax benefits, enhancing liquidity and returns on their investments.

Finally, Tannousis explained that Cyprus is an ideal destination for multinational companies from Asia and the Middle East, who wish to move their headquarters to Europe.

He presented the main markets with which Cyprus maintains strong commercial relations, inviting investors to take advantage of the benefits offered by the Cypriot economy and its geostrategic position.

The International Funds Summit & Expo was presented by CIFA and Invest Cyprus.
