What it’s like to work at Wrike

We nurture Wrikers so they may grow professionally and we elevate those who are passionate about solving challenges,” says Ksenia Abramova, Senior HR Business Partner at Wrike. “With this in mind,” she adds, “we are committed to creating opportunities for professional development.”
Wrike, a leading global provider of project management, work management and collaboration solutions company, opened its Nicosia offices in 2022, close to the heart of the capital’s old town. “We established our presence in Cyprus in 2022 and it has been an amazing experience ever since. For us, Cyprus is more than just a base of operations – this amazing island has proven to be a fantastic place for the IT industry, offering a supportive tech community, endless sunny days and, most importantly, incredible people,” she says.
Abramova explains that in the 30 months since the opening in Cyprus, the team in Cyprus has grown by approximately 30% into a dynamic workforce of 183 talented professionals, who, in turn, represent more than 20% of the company’s current global workforce. “This growth reflects our commitment to attracting top talent and driving the continuous evolution of our platform,” she tells GOLD.
The company’s mission is to enable everyone to do their best work. “This year, we proudly launched an internal mentorship programme, allowing employees to participate as either mentors or mentees,” Abramova explains, adding that, through the Wrike platform, mentees looking to develop specific skills or knowledge are paired with mentors who can guide them. “It’s not only a chance for mentees to grow but also an excellent opportunity for mentors to refine their coaching skills,” she says.
Abramova also highlights the fact that Wrike has also invested in creating skill matrices for every function in the company this year, to help employees better understand growth opportunities and pathways.
“For our leaders, we introduced special panel-style learning sessions covering a variety of leadership topics, including how to lead an effective one-on-one, delivering feedback to employees and so on,” she says. What makes these sessions unique, she believes, is that they were designed not only for an audience of managers but were developed, moderated and run by members of the company’s ‘Extended Executive Leadership’ community, an elected group of senior leaders who support the core Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with the communication and execution of company strategy.
“As the HR team, we’re thrilled to have such engaged partners in creating meaningful development opportunities,” she notes. Additionally, Wrike hosts internal meetups called ‘Talk Kitchen’, as well as organising external ones, inviting speakers from outside the company to bring fresh perspectives and ideas. “On top of that, some departments hold their own knowledge-sharing sessions to encourage collaboration and skill-building within teams,” she adds.
She emphasises that Wrike strives to be more than just an employer, choosing to be part of their employees’ success. “We arrange monthly all-hands meetings at which the ELT shares important updates, insights and achievements,” she says.
Wrike hosts quarterly in-person ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions with CEO Thomas Scott, which, as Abramova explains, “provide a direct channel to ask questions, discuss challenges and hear our CEO’s perspective on the company’s direction – a true reflection of Wrike’s commitment to open dialogue.”
Beyond meetings, the company prioritises listening through its quarterly Engagement Surveys. “These surveys give every team member a voice, helping us understand what’s working well, what needs improvement and where we should focus our efforts (communication, development opportunities, etc.),” she says.
The company also focuses strongly on ensuring its employees’ wellbeing and work-life balance. “Our hybrid (office plus home) work model allows team members to balance where they work best each week – whether in the office or remotely, offering flexibility to suit individual needs,” Abramova says.
She also notes that the company’s people are what makes Wrike an exceptional employer. “At Wrike, we’re surrounded by individuals who don’t just overcome challenges – they turn the impossible into reality and, from my perspective, working with such incredible teammates in this environment is already a privilege.”
