Cyprus's attractiveness as a top investment destination and as an ideal choice for non-doms and high net worth individuals (HNWIs) from all over the world, as well as their families, was highlighted during a conference on the theme 'Non Doms: The Cyprus Private Client Offering Gathering 2024' organised in London by IMH in collaboration with Invest Cyprus .
The 4 December conference, which took place in the wake of the British government's recent decision to, from April 2025, abolish the non-dom tax regime that the United Kingdom had been applying for a number of years, was a first-class opportunity to present the non-dom tax regime that Cyprus has and its many advantages. It also showcased - in parallel - the many advantages of the country in general as an ideal choice for living, working and doing business.
With the main topic of its work being 'Cyprus: A destination of choice for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), their families, companies and employees', the conference served as a source of information for investors who, considering the possibility of changing jurisdiction, would be interested in and would view the prospect of establishing and operating in Cyprus through a positive lens.
More than 120 professionals from the United Kingdom, such as lawyers, accountants, private bankers and family office managers, attended and gained from the more than 30 experts from Cyprus who participated with the presentations/analyses they provided creating an overall picture of the benefits that foreign investors - and others - can enjoy by doing business on the island.
At the same time, participants had the opportunity to come into direct contact and to experience firsthand, and especially through the presence of its representatives there, the friendly business environment that Cyprus offers in all respects.
Opening the conference proceedings, Marios Tannousis, CEO of Invest Cyprus, presented the non-dom status of Cyprus, analysing both the advantages of establishing individuals and businesses in our country as well as the economic and investment field on our island.
