European University Cyprus in partnership with the London Stock Exchange

The European University of Cyprus has entered into a partnership with the London Stock Exchange for the development of the London Stock Exchange Workspace for Students in the School of Business Administration.

London Stock Exchange Group plc is a United Kingdom-based stock exchange and financial information company headquartered in the City of London and which owns the London Stock Exchange, as well as Refinitiv, LSEG Technology, FTSE Russell, and majority stakes in LCH and Tradeweb.

The partnership will enable up to 50 postgraduate students and academic staff to access data and live-streaming through software installed at dedicated facilities at the University.

MSc Data Analytics in Accounting and Finance students, as well as PhD students in related fields, will have the opportunity to experience the day-to-day workings of London Stock Exchange professionals through the virtual room transactions and have access to financial and other reports submitted by public companies listed on the Stock Exchange. They will also have the opportunity to participate in competitions and other initiatives of the London Stock Exchange Group.

University notes that without a solid foundation in data analysis and an understanding of the mechanics of the day-to-day operation of international markets, industry professionals run the risk of being left behind in an environment dominated by data-driven decision-making and hands-on experience.

As noted in an announcement from the university, the European University of Cyprus Master's Programme in Data Analytics in Accounting and Finance equips students with key skills while also providing them with a competitive edge in the job market. The added level of expertise offered by this new partnership will enable them to extract hidden insights from financial data, predict trends and refine strategies for their research fields and career prospects. As employers increasingly look for experts who can translate raw data into reliable insights, prowess in data analysis is becoming a key factor in advancing careers and staying relevant in these industries.
