LVLUP Accelerator for gaming companies programme to be launched in Cyprus

Google for Startups, NVO Lab, and GDCy are launching the LVLUP Accelerator for Gaming companies in Cyprus.
A press release by CYENS - Centre of Excellence says that the LVLUP Accelerator programme is designed to support new Cypriot gaming studios and startups, promoting their development and attracting gaming businesses to the island.
It will provide participating companies with valuable assistance, including business development support, access to a network of international gaming experts and advisors and fundraising assistance.
According to the press release, The Games Fund, GEM Capital and Green Gray will serve as partners, leveraging their extensive gaming expertise to support participants.
In addition, the CYENS Center of Excellence will play a vital role, overseeing the AR/VR/XR portion of the training programme the announcement adds. Throughout the programme, selected teams will participate in expert sessions and workshops, and work with advisors from prominent gaming companies, publishers, and investment programmes.
Most of the programme will be conducted online, while live events are also planned in Cyprus.
Accelerator partners are The Games Fund, GEM Capital, Green Grey, CYENS Center of Excellence, Tech Island and Borscht. Applications for participation in the programme are accepted until 29 February 2024.
The accelerator programme will run from March to May. On 31/5 the LVLUP Accelerator Demo Day will take place, at GDCy fest.
Vladislav Zdorenko, Managing Partner of NVO Capital, and Founder of NVO lab said that in the last six years there have been more than 80 accelerator programmes for startups in Eastern Europe.
"As a strategic move, we are extending our knowledge and support to promising gaming companies in Cyprus. NVO Capital's investment focus on entertainment offers us the opportunity to find companies for investment and partnerships," he said.
Furthermore, Tim Fadeev, Founder of GDCy - GameDev Cyprus stated that the introduction of the LVLUP Accelerator is a new way for them to maintain their commitment to the development and progress of the gaming industry.
Mariusz Gąsiewski, CEE Mobile Gaming and Apps Lead at Google says that gaming is an integral part of Google's initiatives and they are willing to support the growth of ambitious gaming companies through partnership and development opportunities.
Ilya Eremeev, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of The Games Fund stated that Cyprus is an emerging growth hub for gaming and a key region for The Games Fund.
