PwC Cyprus achieves 100% renewable electricity milestone in Net Zero journey

PwC Cyprus has reached a significant achievement on its path to net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, having transitioned to using 100% renewable electricity for its operations in Nicosia and Limassol.

This initiative is a part of the firm's broader commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and supporting the global economy's shift towards net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, in line with the targets set for 2030 across its network of member firms, it said in a press release.

It added that the accomplishment demonstrates PwC Cyprus' dedication to making environmentally responsible decisions and also aligns with its participation in RE100, a global initiative uniting businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity usage. The decision to switch to renewable energy sources underscores the firm's proactive approach to fostering a sustainable and responsible energy infrastructure, fully aligned with the fight against the climate crisis.

"Achieving 100% renewable electricity consumption in our offices is a testament to our firm’s commitment to leading by example in the journey towards sustainability. We believe this milestone is not just a significant achievement for our firm but also serves as a beacon for others in our industry, illustrating the feasibility and importance of moving towards more sustainable practices, said Constantinos Constantinou, Partner at PwC Cyprus."

PwC Cyprus said it prides itself on being an active participant in the global movement towards a sustainable and net-zero future. The firm remains committed to exploring innovative solutions to minimise its environmental footprint, setting ambitious targets that aim to inspire positive change across the industry.

In its 2023 PwC Network Environment report, the organisation offers an overview of the transformative steps it has taken towards developing greater climate resilience.
