Cyprus government reaffirms commitment to foreign investors at successful event (pics)

President Nikos Christodoulides, the five government ministers most involved in related matters, and Invest Cyprus have reconfirmed the country’s commitment to attracting and maintaining foreign investment in Cyprus.
The “Foreign Investors Dialogue with Government: From feedback to action” event was held at Presidential Palace on 8 February, to help foreign investors in Cyprus learn more about the government’s actions following a relevant roundtable discussion last summer.
In his address, President Nikos Christodoulides, among other things, told foreign investors in the country that the government approaches them as its partners, who will help it navigate a landscape marked by challenges and opportunities alike.
Invest Cyprus Chairman Evgenios Evgeniou, meanwhile, told the key foreign investors on the island that he wants them to become the country’s ambassadors, adding: “You are the most credible advocate for our country.”
Addressing the event along with Christodoulides and Evgeniou were Finance Minister Makis Keravnos, Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, Energy Minister George Papanastasiou, Education Minister Dr Athena Michaelidou, and Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou.
The ministers presented the work their ministries had carried out in connection to the concerns and requests the foreign investors had put forward during the roundtable meeting at the Presidential Palace last year.
The investors were also give the opportunity to ask the officials specific questions.
A cocktail reception followed, providing an additional chance for the participants to network.
