Kition Ocean Holdings holds 2nd annual Volunteer Blood Donation at Larnaca Port
09:41 - 19 March 2024
Kition Ocean Holdings held a "Kition Volunteer Blood Donation Day" at its facilities at the Larnaca Port Passenger Terminal on 15 March, for the second consecutive year with great success.
Centring on the message "Share The Gift Of Life," the company's management and staff called upon donors to help cover the increased needs for blood and its derivatives, what with the Blood Bank currently facing severe shortages.
A doctor was present to conduct the necessary medical history checks and suitability assessments of volunteer donors. The company said the event “managed to strengthen the sense of solidarity and selflessness, offering hope and giving ‘life’ to those in need”.
The Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, was also present at the volunteer blood donation.
“Volunteer blood donation is a vital gift, an act of love that transcends ourselves and reinforces the concept of human solidarity,” the company said in a press release. “With every drop of blood, we gift smiles and hope, making the world a better place for everyone.”
It added, “Kition Ocean Holdings, emphasising the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility, reaffirms its commitment to supporting and promoting initiatives that strengthen society and benefit society. The success of the ‘Kition Volunteer Blood Donation Day’ is proof of the power of collective effort and our ability to make a positive difference in people's lives.”
