Paul Broderick has been made Executive Director, Head of Cyprus at MUFG Investor Services following Yannis Matsis’ appointment as Managing Director, Global Head of Business Promotion.
MUFG Investor Services, a global leader in asset servicing, administration, and banking solutions for the alternative investment management industry, earlier this year announced that its assets under administration (AUA) have surpassed the $1 trillion mark. With a global footprint across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, the company has offices in 17 strategic locations, including Cyprus.
In his role as the Global Head of Business Promotion at MUFG Investor Services, Matsis will be driving product advancement, acquisition strategies and stakeholder relations.
He will also be leading the company’s expansion into the UAE. It is worth noting that previously, when heading MUFG's Cyprus operations, Matsis grew its staff to over 200 people.
His extensive experience includes having been CEO of Hellenic Bank Group, Global Head of Derivatives at Mizuho and ING Barings and co-founder of Point Nine, acquired by MUFG in 2019.
Matsis chairs Point Nine Data Trust and previously chaired the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the Association of Cyprus Banks, and was Board Member of Hellenic Bank and the European Banking Federation in Frankfurt. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Broderick, meanwhile, apart from a time at Grant Thornton Cayman Islands, has been at MUFG Investor Services since 2011, holding a number of significant positions. He has previously also worked at PwC and PKF O'Connor Leddy & Holmes Limited.
Broderick studied Corporate Law at the University of Galway and has been awarded Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) certification by Chartered Accountants Ireland
