Haris Pistos: Bank of Cyprus’ app is considered one of the best in Europe

Bank of Cyprus’ 1bank app is considered one of the best in Europe and is part of the bank’s technological transformation journey that saw it employ innovation to improve its customer experience and operational efficiency, said the bank’s Director International Banking, Haris Pistos, addressing a tech summit in Limassol.

He talking at the 2nd Cyprus: The New Global Tech & Innovation Hub Summit that is currently underway in Limassol, where he presented Bank of Cyprus’ (BoC) leading position in the market and its strategic vision.

The local banking sector has proved its resilience, said Pistos, and BoC exceeded its goals in 2023 thanks to favourable interest rates and strategic initiatives.

Looking ahead, he said the bank was committed to sustainable growth. It is focusing on international businesses, facilitating cross-boarder transactions and offering high-level digital services with a customised approach.

To this end, Pistos said the bank’s International Business Units play a key role in covering the needs of international clients, thus helping with the relocation of international companies to the island.
