To raise awareness among children about the value and importance of the sea, the Limassol Municipality has created the interactive educational room 'Save the Sea - Ocean Room,' which has been inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis.

This interactive room, housed at the Limassol Municipality's Innovation and Blue Economy Centre, "is an indication of our firm commitment to the preservation of our marine ecosystems, especially for the benefit of our youth", said Hadjimanolis, addressing the 2 April inauguration event, adding that among the goals they have set as Deputy Ministry of Shipping, is the promotion of maritime and shipping professions in secondary and higher education schools.

This interactive space, she continued, is designed to educate young minds about the modern challenges facing our seas and through five thematic stations, covering important topics such as climate change, plastic pollution, endangered species, sustainable fishing and Limassol's relationship with the sea, participants will embark on a journey of discovery and problem-solving.

Hadjimanolis also thanked the Limassol Municipality and Royal Caribbean International, which was the sponsor of the project, expressing confidence that initiatives such as this "will not only educate but also empower our youth to become ambassadors of marine conservation".
