Fuel sales down by an annual 3.2% in March

Total sales of petroleum products declined by 3.2% year on year in March with sales amounting to 108,200 tonnes.

According to data released by CySTAT provisions of marine gasoil dropped by 6.8%, heavy and light fuel oil sales by 32.9% each, asphalt by 7.9%) and liquefied petroleum gases by 4.4%.

On the contrary, an increase was observed in the provisions of aviation kerosene (3.4%) and in the sales of kerosene (21.6%), heating gasoil (10.4%), road diesel (0.9%) and motor gasoline (0.2%).

Sales from filling stations rose marginally by 0.4% to 56,450 tonnes, CySTAT added.

For the period of January – March 2024, the total sales of petroleum products increased by 0.9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of March 2024 rose by 9.6% compared to the end of the previous month, CySTAT said.
