President Christodoulides to pay two-day official visit to Poland

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, is on the evening of 22 May set to travel to Poland for an official visit, where he will meet with the country's political leadership.

A presidency press release said the President, who will be accompanied by First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, will receive an official welcome at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw on 23 May, followed by a private meeting with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, which will be followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Cyprus and Poland in the field of Sports will be signed, to be followed by statements by the two Presidents to the media.

Christodoulides will also attend a working lunch with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, while in the afternoon he will have a meeting with Parliament Speaker Szymon Hołownia.

In the evening, the Cypriot presidential couple and the members of the delegation will attend an official dinner hosted by President Duda.

On 24 May, the President of the Republic will travel to Krakow where the Cypriot delegation will visit the Jagiellonian University. Christodoulides will meet with the Rector of the University and will address the students. This will be followed by a tour of the University Museum. The President of the Republic and his entourage will also go to the historic center of the city and visit Wawel Castle, while at noon they will attend a working lunch with the Governor of Lesser Poland.

The President will be accompanied by Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou and other officials. The Cypriot delegation returns home on the evening of 24 May.
