CySEC hosts European Financial Supervisory Authorities Internal Audit Forum

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) hosted the European Financial Supervisory Authorities Internal Audit Forum (EU FSA IA Forum) in Cyprus on 23 and 24 May.

“This hybrid event was a great opportunity for internal audit professionals from EU FSAs to come together, share insights and discuss the future of financial supervision and audit,” CySEC said on its social media.

During the event, CySEC Chairman Dr George Theocharides delivered the keynote speech, which addressed the impact of technology and Artificial Intelligence in the Financial Sector.

There were also thematic presentations on The New IIA Global Standards, the implementation of audit recommendations and the key aspects and implementation of MiCA.

Presentations and discussions ensued on auditing the use of cloud services in FSAs, the use of SupTech in supervising banks, the use of innovative technologies at banks and associated risks and how new technologies can be used to transform Internal Audit.

The event wrapped with networking sessions fostering collaboration and the exchange of best practices among internal auditors of EU FSAs.
