ΟΕΒ Director-General re-elected as substitute member of ILO's Governing Body

Michalis Antoniou, Director-General of Cyprus' Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) has been re-elected as a substitute member of the new International Labour Organisation (ILO) Governing Body.

According to a press release issued by OEB, during the elections held in Geneva on 10 June, Antoniou garnered votes from 55 of the total 81 votes of the electoral college, representing 68% of the votes.

The Governing Body constitutes the ILO’s highest administrative body. Apart from its administrative and executive competency, it takes decisions on the ILO policy, adopts the draft Programme and Budget of the Organisation and promotes the implementation of international labour conventions and recommendations.

Antoniou will address the plenary of the International Labour Conference on 11 June, the press release said.
