MSC is the world's largest container shipping company, and its fleet is expected to soon be joined by new modern ships that are under construction. To this end, it was agreed to strengthen the company's fleet with ships under the Cypriot flag, as long as the framework of services and advantages provided by the Cypriot registry fully meets the conditions and standards set by the company.

Hadjimanolis also met with the President of MSC Cruises, Pierfrancesco Vago, and other senior company executives and discussed issues related to the cruise sector and the prospects of strengthening the company's cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.

Finally, the Deputy Minister met with the Swiss Shipowners' Association, and presented the competitive advantages of registering under the Cypriot flag, establishing a shipping company in Cyprus, as well as the provisions of Cypriot tonnage tax system.
