Hadjimanolis in Athens for Posidonia 2024

Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis arrived in Athens on 2 June to join the Cypriot delegation at the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition.

The Posidonia, which takes place every two years, is being held at the Metropolitan Expo in the Greek capital from 3 to 7 June. It is arguably the biggest shipping exhibition worldwide, attracting thousands of visitors and hundreds of companies from the broad maritime sector.

“Posidonia takes its exhibitors to the heart of this community with exclusive access to owners and management keen to engage with suppliers and services for their shipping operations and fleet renewal,” the expo’s official website says. “Technical and operations executives from all over the world will be keen to engage with exhibitors – not only to discuss solutions but to make decisions. Posidonia is known for the business done in its exhibition halls. No other shipping event is attended by as many Greek and international shipowners and shipping executives.”

Cyprus is participating in Posidonia with around 70 companies. Hadjimanolis will be participating as a panel speaker in various events and seminars that will be held alongside the expo, while she also plans to meet with shipping companies in her effort to stay abreast of developments in the shipping community.

The deputy minister will also be having high-level meetings with her counterpart and other ministers, as well as country ambassadors.

Rounding her visit off, Hadjimanolis will host a reception to mark Posidonia 2024 on 5 June, which is expected to be attended by the Greek shipping community as well as company executives from Europe, China, Japan and scores of other countries.
