Christiana Avraam: MiCA regulation will have a huge impact on the brokerage industry (video)

For Christiana Avraam, Advocate/Head of Licensing Department at AMF Global, the biggest shakeup facing the brokerage market over the next couple of years will be the Markets in Crypto Assets – aka MiCA – regulation coming into effect.

The part of the MiCA Regulation concerning stablecoins will come into force on 30 June and the rest on 30 December 2024.

Speaking to CBN during iFX Expo International that took place at City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol in June, Avraam said that MiCA “will have a huge impact on the industry as we will see, let’s say, regulated entities take advantage of the equivalency regime so that they can offer these services from their existing portfolio for example”.

As for the expo itself, she said it was an excellent networking opportunity and a great opportunity to meet new and existing clients.
