Omri Nir: Prop trading a key trend for brokerage industry in next couple of years

Propriety trading – aka prop trading – will be a key trend impacting the brokerage and CFD industry in the next couple of years, according to Omri Nir, Sales and Business Development at Panda Trading Systems.

Speaking to CBN on the sidelines of iFX Expo International that took place at City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol in June, Nir said he was attending the expo in hopes of meeting new people of the industry, seeking out new collaborations and onboarding customers.

He also spoke of a “new wave of prop trading” – which occurs when a trading desk at a financial institution, brokerage firm, investment bank, hedge fund, or other liquidity source uses the firm's capital and balance sheet to conduct self-promoting financial transactions.

Panda Trading Systems is an Israeli brokerage company with offices in Cyprus.
