Traditional Ayios Charalambos boat now exhibited at CMMI

The traditional boat Ayios Charalambos is now available to view at the premises of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI).

The Liberty type boat, which was donated to CMMI by the Archaeological Research Unit of the University of Cyprus, is considered one of the last witnesses of the Cypriot wooden shipbuilding art, and has been studied and recorded by the Laboratory of Marine Archaeology of the University of Cyprus.

The boat has been refurbished by the company Island Oil at Petronav Ship Management Ltd’s facilities at Limassol port.

It is now being exhibited by CMMI while it will also be used for research and educational purposes.
