Cybersecurity in 2048 through the eyes of Ramsés Gallego

Cybersecurity is at a crossroads of innovations and challenges. As technologies leap forward, the complexity characterizing digital life increases: Imagine a world where artificial intelligence orchestrates both attacks and defenses with unprecedented complexity, or where quantum computers unravel classical encryption.

Resilience is at the heart of public discourse. The need for collective determination to protect systems against evolving threats such as advanced persistent threats (APTs) and vulnerabilities from quantum computers occupies almost every discussion among professionals in the field.

Regulations play their own significant role, sometimes successfully and sometimes not, in creating a strong framework for privacy protection in an environment now inundated with personal data and digital identities.

However, the human factor remains crucial. The cybersecurity workforce of tomorrow must possess not only technical skills but also ethics.

Ramsés Gallego, a member of the ISACA Hall of Fame, is one of the many individuals coming to our island from abroad to speak at the 4th Cyber Security Conference. There, he will attempt to give us a glimpse of what to expect twenty years from now. Gallego will take the stage for a discussion titled “Cybersecurity 2048: Days of Future Past.”
