UCLan Cyprus Graduation Ceremony 2024

The Graduation Ceremony of UCLan Cyprus was held successfully on Friday, 5 July, at the Pattichion Amphitheatre in Larnaca.

This significant event featured inspiring speeches from esteemed guests such as Floros Voniatis, the CEO and Chair of the Council of UCLan Cyprus, Annita Demetriou, the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, Professor Janice Allan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Leadership at UCLan UK, and Professor Irene Polycarpou, Rector of UCLan Cyprus. Their speeches elevated the evening's grandeur, honoring the graduates' dedication and achievements.

In his address, CEO and Chair of the Council of UCLan Cyprus, Floros Voniatis, congratulated all the graduates, noting that "this achievement marks a significant milestone in their lives, and they should be proud of their successes." He also highlighted the great value that the British University of Cyprus places on critical thinking, enriching knowledge, and the creation of an environment that focuses on the intellectual, social, and personal development. Additionally, he highlighted the recent and important establishment of the new School of Arts, Media & Communication, which aims to foster students' creativity through the new programmes offered by the university.

In Her Excellency’s greeting, Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, stated that "Education is the most effective force for transforming the world!" She proceeded to congratulate the graduates, emphasising that their remarkable accomplishments were due to their commitment and dedication. She highlighted the importance of the relationships that the graduates created during their studies, with both academic members and peers. As the graduates prepare to embark on their next journey, the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus urged them to deploy their knowledge for future development in the broader community.

The Rector of UCLan Cyprus, Professor Irene Polycarpou, spoke about the courage and resilience of the students and recognised the consistent support provided by the families of the graduates. She also acknowledged the invaluable guidance provided by the academics during the graduates' university journey. Professor Polycarpou encouraged the graduates to never cease exploring new horizons, to innovate, to be prepared to face any challenges on their path, to uphold their values and ideals, and to strive to have a positive impact on society. The evening concluded with the awarding of degrees and the recognition of top graduates from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, making it an unforgettable night.
