Allianz Cyprus becomes first Main Event Sponsor of FIBA EuroBasket 2025

Allianz Cyprus, a branch of Allianz, the largest insurance company in the world, has officially become the first sponsor of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 to be held in Cyprus next summer.

More specifically, Allianz Cyprus – as Main Event Sponsor – has taken a spot on the top of the two tiers of sponsors of the upcoming European Championship, which Cyprus will co-organise with three other countries, in August 2025, a relevant press release has announced.

The Organising Committee of FIBA ​​EuroBasket 2025 in Cyprus has determined only eight available sponsor positions, in the two tiers of the programme. Four companies will support the National effort towards the event, as Main Event Sponsors with four others as an Event Sponsors.

Allianz Cyprus, part of Allianz , a proud partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement as well as of Bayern Munich, has become the first company to take a place on the roster of corporate partners, as a Main Event Sponsor.

The FIBA ​​EuroBasket 2025 is considered to be the most important sporting event that Cyprus has ever hosted, since together with the FIBA ​​World Cup, they are the two most important national team tournaments in the world.

FIBA Europe handed over the responsibility of the organisation to four countries, which will be co-hosted by one group of the tournament. Along with Cyprus, the other three countries are Finland, Poland and Latvia, with the latter taking over the organisation of the knockout matches, after the group stage.

The FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will start on 27 August and will end with the final in Riga on 14 September, 2025. In Cyprus, the matches will take place from 28 August to 5 September.
