President Nikos Christodoulides has extended his “warmest congratulations” to Ursula von der Leyen for her re-election as President of the European Council.

In a post on “X”, President Christodoulides congratulated von der Leyen on her re-election, noting that her “exceptional leadership in the past 5 years was instrumental in overcoming challenges and building a stronger Union”, and expressing eagerness for the continuation of the “close and productive cooperation” between the Republic of Cyprus and the EU.
