Captain Eberhard Koch: OL Shipping’s history with Cyprus dates back to the year 1843

Österreichischer Lloyd (OL) Shipping Group has a very long history in Cyprus that dates back to the 1800s. Captain Eberhard Koch, the company’s Chairman, CEO and Partner, relayed some very interesting historical facts, speaking to the camera as part of Invest Cyprus’ Working & Living in Cyprus Series on YouTube

OL Shipping Group is a family owned shipping company with a history of 188 years and has been present in Cyprus for 29 years.

But the company’s history with Cyprus actually dates back to the year 1843, when its steamship called at the ports of Larnaca, Limassol and Famagusta regularly, while it was also in charge of a mail service to and from Alexandria and Constantinople in 1844.
