Capt. Georgiou went on to note that the global aviation industry has been significantly affected by supply chain disruptions throughout 2024. "The pandemic left long-lasting impacts on production and logistics, leading to delays in aircraft deliveries. Major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers have faced persistent challenges due to labour shortages, raw material scarcity, and increased demand. These factors have collectively strained the industry's capacity to meet delivery schedules, thereby affecting airlines worldwide, including Cyprus Airways," he said.

"Despite our proactive efforts to mitigate the impact of this delay, including seeking alternative solutions with ACMI and collaborating closely with the Travel Agents," Capt. Georgiou continued, "the current situation has compelled us to adjust our schedule the past weeks. We recognize that these changes may have causes inconvenience and frustration, and we sincerely apologize to all affected passengers."

Details of the Schedule Changes, as noted in the airline's statement:

  • Affected routes saw adjustments primarily in the form of reduced flight frequencies rather than complete cancellations.
  • The airline focused these reductions on routes with alternative travel options to minimize disruption.
  • All impacted customers have received notifications with available alternatives, including options to rebook on different flights or request a full refund.

The Cyprus Airways customer service team is committed to assisting every affected passenger through this period. We are offering several options to ensure flexibility and convenience the company says:
