Recap of iFX Expo International 2024 in Limassol

On the 19th and 20th of July the iFX EXPO International 2024 took place at the City of Dreams Mediterranean and brought together thousands of C-level executives from the world’s top brands, along with hundreds of fintech innovators and affiliates.

A Hub of Activity and Engagement

The event was a lively gathering, with many exhibitors where attendees could discuss, share knowledge, and network. The expo had a packed schedule, featuring speeches and panel discussions by top business executives, held in rooms called IDEAHUB and SPEAKER Hall.

Insightful discussions

One of the sessions was the panel "Empowering Change: Women Leading the Way in Fintech”, moderated by Kamalika Poddar, Founding Member - Data and Product at LXME. Sophie Gerber, co-CEO / Director at TRAction Fintech / Sophie Grace Compliance, Opal Yang, Founder/CEO of New Direction Solution, Lissele Pratt, CGO & Co-Founder of Capitalixe, and Tanya Romanyukha, General Manager of TechIsland, shared their stories, insights, and strategies for success and empowerment of the next generation of female leaders in fintech despite the challenges in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Another interesting session was the panel titled "Finance Forward: Cultivating Wellbeing and Success in the Digital Age." Moderated by Elena Sabelnikova, Business Partner at Advanced Payments Solutions, the panel also included Anna Loizou, Chief People Officer at PwC Cyprus, Ross Pitman, Director of Business & Communication at GRS Recruitment, and Marianna Hadjiandoniou, Executive Vice President at Energame. During this session, the panelists discussed effective stress management techniques, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and fostering a supportive workplace culture. Key takeaways from the discussion included the challenges of hybrid work models compared to fully remote setups, and the importance of older generations adapting to new work paradigms, as they are often the gatekeepers of innovation and possess a deeper understanding of work-life balance.

A noteworthy point is that the success of hybrid work environments hinges on trust and respect. Moreover, Marianna Hadjiandoniou emphasized that in the recruitment game, focusing on well-being is vital for survival and success. She also stressed the importance of investing in future generations to create innovative workplaces. In this context, she discussed the educational opportunities that Energame offers to graduates and young professionals for master's degrees. Through the innovative educational CSR program - GAME CHANGERS, Energame provides scholarships and funded courses to both the public and employees to further develop their expertise. The comprehensive global program GAME CHANGERS by Energame,was designed to empower the next generation of leaders through education and it includes learning activities like not only scholarships for the public and scholarships and corporate discounts for Energame personnel, but also guest lectures from Energame experts at Cypriot institutions, in order to provide practical knowledge, and events, workshops and motivational talks with the main goal of developing education and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Diverse Sessions and Networking Opportunities

The two-day expo included not only a lineup of influential expert and visionary thinkers and exhibitions in the online trading space but also networking events and parties, fostering an environment where professionals could connect and in a more relaxed setting.
