Wizz Air announces second term of voluntary Sustainability Ambassador programme

Wizz Air has announced the launch of the second term of its voluntary WIZZ Sustainability Ambassador programme.

As it said in a press release, building upon the achievements of the initial term, which was a first of its kind initiative, employees will continue to participate in local sustainability projects, promoting eco-friendly practices and sharing valuable insights with colleagues.

Following the successful inaugural year of the programme, Wizz Air selected three outstanding winners from three different bases to reward the employees who achieved the highest employee engagement, the highest number of educational campaigns and in the most impactful charity event organisation.

For the new term, the WIZZ Sustainability Ambassadors will be selected from 15 different bases from across Wizz Air’s entire network. The new term will begin in September 2024.

Yvonne Moynihan, Corporate and ESG Officer at Wizz Air, said: “The WIZZ Sustainability Ambassadors contribute significantly to Wizz Air’s mission of environmental stewardship and positive change within the aviation industry. We are proud of the achievements of our first term Ambassadors who demonstrated passion, dedication, and a genuine commitment to raising awareness of environmental and social sustainability issues across Wizz Air’s network.
