Dr. Marianna Prokopi-Demetriades wins Falling Walls Foundation Women’s Impact Award

Dr. Marianna Prokopi-Demetriades has been recognised with the Women’s Impact Award by the Falling Walls Foundation for her pioneering work on “Breaking the Wall of Holistic Oncological Care.”
"Her innovative approach is redefining cancer treatment by combining advanced medical research with compassionate care," a Foundation announcement on Prokopi-Demetriades' win notes.
The Falling Walls Foundation, established on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, is committed to breaking barriers across all scientific disciplines. Supported by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Helmholtz Association, the Nobel Foundation, and various academic institutions, the Foundation promotes global innovation and collaboration.
Dr. Prokopi-Demetriades now joins a distinguished network of innovators recognised by the Foundation. "This award places her among those at the forefront of addressing global challenges through cutting-edge research and collaboration," the announcement continues.
"The recognition of the Women’s Impact Award highlights the significance of Dr. Prokopi-Demetriades’s contributions to oncological care. Through her leadership at Theramir Ltd, Promed Bioscience, and RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd, she is advancing cancer treatment by integrating holistic methodologies that address the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
This award is the result of a rigorous selection process judged by a panel of experts from across the scientific community, underscoring the transformative impact of Dr. Prokopi-Demetriades’s work in the field of oncological care.

As a winner, Dr. Prokopi-Demetriades will present her research at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin from 7-9 November, contributing to global scientific discourse and influencing future medical innovations. The Summit is part of Berlin Science Week taking place from 1-10 November.
