“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center and XM cooperate on children's education programmes
14:50 - 29 August 2024
"Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center (HFC) and XM have announced the expansion of their collaboration, aiming to broaden the educational empowerment programmes for children across Cyprus.
With a shared commitment to promoting positive change, HFC and XM are joining forces to implement the following programmes, a relevant announcement said:
- Hope For Children Summer School: Successfully held from 1 to 12 July 2024 in Nicosia, the Hope For Children Summer School brought together 25 teenagers aged 12-16 from various social backgrounds. The programme aimed to develop critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills while deepening children's understanding of issues related to their protection. Discussions and activities focused on addressing topics such as cyberbullying, racism, school bullying, and gender-based violence.
- HFC CRC Campus Clubs: Through weekly meetings with a specific group of children at each school, HFC trains the children themselves to become ambassadors for children's rights in their schools. Through experiential workshops using the non-formal education method, young ambassadors are equipped with the knowledge and skills to advocate for issues important to themselves and their peers.
- TEAM-UP PROGRAM: Designed to enhance resilience, psychosocial well-being, and critical life skills among teenagers, this programme involves youth in structured play and sports activities that promote leadership, community participation, and conflict resolution.
- Experiential Workshops: HFC's workshops conducted in schools across Cyprus cover critical topics such as the prevention of sexual abuse, anger management, the development of healthy relationships, and other issues affecting children. These sessions are vital for promoting the socio-emotional development and protection of children and teenagers.
"XM's support for various HFC initiatives and actions, such as the 1466 helpline, has been ongoing. Through this strategic collaboration, HFC and XM aim to expand their impact across Cyprus, helping young people and children develop critical skills and knowledge to advocate for themselves and their communities," the announcement concluded.
