The payabl. Basketball Tournament "Neofytos Chandriotis" will be taking place on 14-16 September, with the participation of powerhouse teams like Panathinaikos BC, Maccabi Tel-Aviv Basketball Club and FC Bayern Basketball.

The game schedule is as follows:

14 September: Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv vs Bayern Munich
15 September: Panathinaikos AKTOR vs Bayern Munich
16 September: Panathinaikos AKTOR vs Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv

Neofytos Chandriotis was a young Cypriot basketball player who lost his battle with cancer at the tender age of 22.

Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos said that beyond the symbolic character of this tournament – with it being held in honour of Neofytos Chandriotis – it is also the leading preparation tournament ahead of Euroleague Basketball.

“For us, it is very important that we send the message that the Municipality supports tournaments that add value to our town and its sport and tourism product,” he said.
