The Games Fund is leading the $2.5M Seed Round for France-based Drama Studios, the team behind the viral 'Unrecord' trailer that racked up 11 million views on IGN.
In a LinkedIn post, Maria Kochmola, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Cyprus-based The Games Fund noted, “Unrecord is a single-player PC/console action-adventure tactical shooter that stands out with its revolutionary body-cam aesthetic, offering an immersive experience like no other. Players step into the shoes of a law enforcement officer, fighting crime in a brutal, unforgiving world.”
“What really sets Unrecord apart—aside from its technical wizardry—is its uniquely European vibe and its off-the-Hollywood aesthetic, giving players something genuinely fresh in a market full of lookalikes,” Kochmola continued, adding, “Unrecord has become one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, even beating out some well-known IPs.”
Kochmola also mentioned Drama Studios’ founding team, Théo Hiribarne, Alexandre Spindler, and Corentin Hery.
“The values and vision of the Drama team really align with what we stand for at The Games Fund, which made finding common ground—and that special founder-investor chemistry—so much easier,” Kochmola went on to say.
She also noted that the following quote by Théo Hiribarne also aligned with The Game Funds’ values. “We at DRAMA, aim to deliver landmark games with strong creative and technological outputs. We represent a new generation of developers mastering Unreal Engine, enabling an easier way to reach AAA game quality faster and at a lower cost. Our goal is to create unique experiences by blending artistic craftsmanship with the appeal of blockbuster hits. We believe this is achievable by listening to the community and consistently striving for high-quality unique games.”
