Price of construction materials dropped in August compared to last year

The Price Index of Construction Materials for August 2024 reached 117.68 units (base year 2021=100), recording a decrease of 0.08%.

By main commodity category, decreases were recorded in metallic products (-3.50%) whereas increases were observed in electromechanical products (3.72%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (1.17%), minerals (0.96%) and mineral products (0.66%).

Compared to the July, the index recorded a marginal increase of 0.03%.

For the period January-August 2024, the index recorded a decrease of 1.28% compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
