Two Cyprus-based companies have been included in the latest round of sanctions imposed by the United States on entities supporting Russia's offensive against Ukraine.

US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, says in a recent post on platform X that ''USA has sanctioned over 400 entities across 16 countries tied to Russia’s energy sector for supporting Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine, the latest round includes 2 Cyprus-based companies''.

''USA and Cyprus continue to work together to support Ukraine,'' the Ambassador concludes.

The US Treasury Department says in an announcement that Kru Overseas Limited is a Cyprus-based subsidiary of Kuzbassrazrezugol. The other company is Lagosmarine Ltd.
