The facilities and services that will be provided through the AMC's Limassol expansion

Environmental Department approval has been given for the American Medical Center (AMC) Limassol, securing the AMC’s expansion in Limassol.

As stated in September 2024 by one of the founders of AMC, Dr. Marinos Soteriou, the new model private hospital in Limassol, which will be a benchmark for the health sector, will operate on the basis of the most modern international standards and will become one of the largest and most advanced private hospitals in the wider region.

At the same time, Soteriou had also announced the expansion of AMC's facilities in Nicosia.

More specifically, as he had said, a multi-purpose tower will be constructed, which will be connected to the other buildings by skybridges and underground corridors for unhindered access for patients.

At the same time, the new facilities will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies and the most modern medical and therapeutic services will be provided.

With the strength of Hellenic Healthcare Group

It is recalled that the Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), which operates in the critical healthcare sector in Greece and Europe, recently acquired a 50% stake in the share capital of the American Medical Center. In addition to the group's participation in AMC, HHG owns the Apollonion Private Hospital and the Aretaieio Hospitall in Cyprus.

According to the Department of Environment ruling, the project, which was approved, concerns the construction and operation of a private clinic under the name "American Medical Center/American Heart Institute".

For the construction of the project, among other things, it has been proposed that existing buildings are demolished to provide additional parking space outside the clinic area.

What will the new model hospital encompass?

The private clinic will welcome patients in need of first aid and treat emergencies, conduct medical examinations, perform surgical procedures and admit patients requiring intensive care.

The clinic will offer accommodation and medical rehabilitation facilities for patients through the provision of specialised care to promote their health.

Based on the environmental opinion, the proposed project will be implemented in plots covering a total area of approximately 2000 sq.m.

The project design foresees the construction of a private clinic which, according to the architectural plans and the information report, will consist of 10 levels and two basements. The two basements will be used mainly for parking spaces.

The ground floor (level 0) will be used to house mainly patient examination areas. Levels 1 and 2 will be used as above-ground parking areas, while the rest (levels 3-9) will include auxiliary and support areas for staff, operating rooms, patient rooms, etc.

Level 10 will be the roof of the development and will mainly include storage areas and support equipment for the clinic. There will also be a helipad on the roof of level 10.

The clinic's main infrastructure will include patient examination areas, operating rooms, patient accommodation rooms, auxiliary and support areas for staff, as well as parking areas.

The total capacity of the clinic will be 68 beds. In addition, 123 parking spaces will be available for the service of patients and staff.

More specifically, the private clinic will provide diagnostic services for various diseases, patient care, first aid, surgical procedures, intensive care and patient accommodation.

The services that will be provided

The main services that will be offered during the operation of the private clinic are the following:

  • Medical examinations with full diagnostic check.
