Cabinet approves €1.5m budget for dredging and renovation of Larnaca Marina

The Cabient has approved the expenditure of €1.5 million for dredging and renovation works at Larnaca Marina.

As announced by the Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeades after the end of the Cabinet meeting, these works are deemed necessary for the safe operation of the marina and the safe entry and exit of boats to the marina, as well as for a general upgrade of security in the surrounding areas.

"This action falls within the commitments we had made to the local community of Larnaca, that we would proceed with these projects as soon as possible. The studies for the deepening have already been implemented and we are proceeding immediately with the project bidder," he said.

The Minister also said that it is expected that the project will soon be implemented and put at the service of marina users.

Responding to a relevant question, he said that the project implementation time is six months, but the tender documents must first be completed, which will be carried out immediately.
