Sophic platform intends to acquire part of first issuance of Cyprus Government Treasury Bills for 2025

The first issuance of Cyprus Government Treasury Bills (T-Bills) for 2025 will take place on Monday, 20 January, the Sophic platfrom has stated, announcing its intention to acquire part of the issuance.

The 13-week T-Bills, maturing on April 25, 2025, are once again expected to attract significant demand, the company also said.

"Interest in T-Bills continues to grow among both private investors and businesses. In the most recent auction for €25 million, bids totaled €157 million, resulting in a coverage ratio of 6.28 – the highest recorded among the 10 issuances held in 2024. The weighted average yield for the previous issuance stood at 2.79%," the announcement continued.

Sophic, an investment platform powered by Athlos Capital, plans to secure part of this issuance to make the T-Bills available to its clients, as it has done with previous offerings.

"T-Bills offer attractive returns and serve as a safe option for both retail investors and businesses seeking to optimise their liquidity management," the platform's announcement said adding, "Cyprus T-Bills remain among the most sought-after products available through Sophic, often selling out within days of release. To date, T-Bills exceeding €50 million in value have been purchased via the platform."
