SGBCy CEO: Cyprus as an excellent platform for international entrepreneurship

Khalil Letayf, the CEO of SGBCy, referred to the challenges of the modern banking landscape and the need for innovation and adaptability during his address at the 12th Banking Forum & FinTech Expo, organised by Logicom Solutions.

Competition in the banking sector is constantly increasing, Letayf noted, but for his company, he said, this is an opportunity to remain flexible and respond immediately to the needs of its customers. “Using available technological tools is key to being more efficient in service,” Letayf continued, emphasising that their advantage is the ability to adapt to ever-changing conditions.

This flexibility is directly linked to human resources and their training, as people are the most important element for success in such a dynamic sector, he argued.

Referring to the future of Cyprus and the sectors that are developing, the banker pointed out the country's strategic position in the global market.

"Our bank participates in corporate transactions and is interested in local and international entrepreneurship.

"Cyprus offers an excellent platform for activity, as it is a very good base for business activities," he said.

He expects the next two years to be a period of rapid growth and international expansion.

Letayf also expressed the belief that Cyprus, as a member of the EU, provides a stable base compared to other countries in the region and the small size of its economy allows it to adapt more quickly and move with greater flexibility.
