President in Cairo for Cyprus-Greece-Egypt Summit, Cyprus-Egypt Intergovernmental Summit

President Nikos Christodoulides is in Cairo for the 10th Trilateral Cyprus-Greece-Egypt Summit and the 2nd Cyprus-Egypt Intergovernmental Summit.

According to statements on by Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, during the 8 January Trilateral Summit, memoranda of understanding are to be signed, including in the areas of healthcare, ports development, Information and Communications Technology and strengthening investment relations.

Prior to the Trilateral Summit, the 2nd Cyprus-Egypt Intergovernmental Summit will take place, he said, during which current regional developments will be discussed as well as the possibilities for joint investment projects in the sectors of infrastructure, trade, technology, innovation and tourism will be discussed and actions for closer energy cooperation.

During the Intergovernmental Summit, several memoranda of understanding will also be signed in areas of common interest, such as education, Information and Communications Technology, women’s empowerment, water management and aquaculture development, he said.

The three leaders are expected to make statements to the media at 2.30pm..

On the sidelines of the Intergovernmental and Trilateral Summits, a business forum will take place with the participation of business representatives from the three countries.
