Countdown begins for March 2025 opening of Amyth of Nicosia (pics)

Thanos Hotels & Resorts Group will soon be offering a new hospitality option within the Walled City of Nicosia.

Amyth of Nicosia is anticipated to welcome its first guests in March 2025, offering authentic Cypriot hospitality.

A hotel with character and a long history

Located within the Medieval-era Venetian Walls and more specifically on at Patriarchou Grigoriou Street, near the Archbishopric and the Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Amyth of Nicosia harmoniously meshes with the area’s special character.

The hotel's interiors date back to the early 1900s, preserving the traditional details of the era. The original flooring, the grand and imposing staircase, and the meticulously curated décor enhance the hotel’s charm and aristocratic elegance.

This elegant and fully renovated mansion, which initially operated as a school, is now being transformed into a gem of a boutique hotel. It will feature ten refined rooms and suites, a courtyard restaurant, and a bar. Guests can indulge in Mediterranean-inspired colours, aromas, and flavours, crafted into unique culinary experiences by the hotel's chef, Andrew Michael Smith, under the guidance of the Group’s Executive Chef, David Goodridge. Drawing inspiration from traditional Cypriot recipes, the menu will highlight fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients.

The restaurant can host up to 100 guests in its indoor and outdoor spaces, while the meeting room can accommodate 15-30 guests, depending on the setup.

The Amyth Hotels philosophy

Amyth of Nicosia joins the Amyth Hotels collection by Thanos Hotels & Resorts, a boutique chain dedicated to creating immersive travel experiences that inspire exploration, authenticity, and open-mindedness.

Discovery lies at the heart of the Amyth experience, with the brand already operating two boutique retreats in Mykonos. The concept revolves around offering a "sanctuary" where guests can uncover “hidden treasures,” whether through adventurous exploration of the destination or through moments of personal reflection. Authenticity is a cornerstone of Amyth Hotels' identity, honouring the heritage and character of each location while reflecting its uniqueness in the hotel’s design and services.

The Thanos Hotels and Resorts Group

The Group began its journey in the luxury hospitality sector in Cyprus 50 years ago, achieving a leading position. Its development was based on the creation of iconic hotels and resorts, which modernised the Cypriot tourism product, and on the transfer of know-how and expertise through Hotel Management services, for the management and development of real estate and hotel units. In particular, Hotel Management is the new autonomous business unit of the Group, offering added value to both customers and investors.

Today, Thanos Hotels and Resorts Group owns three internationally acclaimed luxury resorts in Cyprus, Anassa, Annabelle and Almyra. In 2023, the Group launched its entry into the Greek luxury hospitality market with the first two hotels - Amyth of Mykonos Agios Stefanos and Amyth of Mykonos Super Paradise, while simultaneously presenting an investment plan for its expansion, aiming to operate new hotel units in Greece. The Group’s next major projects through Hotel Management services include the development and reopening of the historic Berengaria Hotel in Prodromos, and the revival and evolution of the iconic Palm Beach Resort, in Larnaca.
