Significant quarterly increase in Investment Funds' assets in December 2024

A significant increase of €573.8 million or 8.4% was recorded in the total assets of investment funds in Cyprus for the quarter ending in December 2024, compared to the period of July – September of the same year, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).

According to CBC data, the number of investment funds increased from 334 in September 2024 to 338 in December 2024.

Their total assets recorded an 8.4% increase, reaching €7,369.5 million in December 2024, compared to €6,795.7 million in September 2024, mainly due to an increase of approximately €497.7 million in their investments in unquoted shares, which amounted to a total of €2.77 billion.

Investment funds held quoted shares worth €1.03 billion and investment fund shares amounting to €1.47 billion.

According to CBC data, their deposits and loans amounted to €834.7 million at the end of December, up from €777.9 million in September 2024.

The value of securities they held in December 2024 reached €695.3 million, up from €596.5 million in the previous September.
